ZynTuner ("ZynTuner", "we", "us", or "our") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how the ZynTuner mobile application handles information when you use the app.

ZynTuner is a chromatic tuner application designed to detect musical pitch using the device microphone and help users tune musical instruments.

1. Information processed by ZynTuner

Microphone and audio

ZynTuner requires access to the device microphone to detect the pitch of sounds produced by musical instruments.

The microphone audio is used by the application to analyze acoustic signals and determine information such as:

• detected frequency;
• musical note;
• tuning deviation in cents;
• stability of the detected pitch;
• the closest reference note or string for the selected instrument.

The audio captured for tuning is processed by the application for the purpose of providing the tuning functionality.

The tuner processes the captured audio locally on the device. ZynTuner does not intentionally transmit or store raw microphone recordings on servers operated by the developer.

ZynTuner does not require users to create an account and does not intentionally collect names, email addresses, telephone numbers, contacts, photographs, messages, or other personal information through the tuner functionality.

Microphone access is used when necessary for the tuning functionality.

2. Information stored on the device

ZynTuner stores certain application preferences locally on the user's device so that the application can remember settings between sessions.

Depending on the features used, these settings may include:

• selected language;
• selected instrument;
• selected tuning;
• custom tuning configurations;
• custom reference pitch settings, such as A4;
• custom tuning names and notes.

These settings are used to provide and preserve the application's functionality. ZynTuner does not use these settings to create a personal profile of the user.

3. Advertising

ZynTuner may display advertisements using the Google Mobile Ads SDK (Google AdMob).

Advertising is used to support the continued development and maintenance of the application.

Google Mobile Ads may automatically process certain information for advertising, analytics, fraud prevention, and related purposes. Depending on the configuration and applicable regulations, this may include information such as:

• IP address;
• device and advertising identifiers;
• app and device information;
• diagnostic information;
• interactions with the application;
• information related to advertisements displayed or interacted with.

4. Privacy choices and consent

Where required by applicable law, ZynTuner uses Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP) to present privacy and consent choices to users.

Users may be presented with options regarding the processing of information for advertising purposes.

The available choices may depend on the user's location, applicable regulations, and the advertising configuration used by ZynTuner.

For users in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland, privacy and consent requirements may apply to advertising-related processing. ZynTuner uses Google's UMP mechanisms to manage applicable consent choices.

Users may also be able to review or change applicable privacy choices through the privacy options provided by the application.

5. Third-party services

ZynTuner may use third-party services necessary to provide advertising and related functionality.

The principal third-party advertising service is:

Google Mobile Ads / Google AdMob

Google may process information according to its own privacy policies and terms. ZynTuner does not control the data processing practices of third-party service providers.

6. Children's privacy

ZynTuner is not specifically designed to collect personal information from children.

The application does not require an account and does not intentionally request personal information such as a child's name, address, telephone number, or email address for the tuner functionality.

Advertising services may have separate requirements concerning children and users under the applicable age of consent. ZynTuner will use the applicable advertising and consent mechanisms required by Google and applicable law.

7. Data security

ZynTuner is designed to minimize the collection of personal information and does not require a user account for its core functionality.

Reasonable technical measures are used to protect information handled by the application.

Information processed by third-party services, including advertising services, is subject to the security measures and policies of those providers.

8. Data retention

ZynTuner does not maintain a developer-operated account database for users of the application.

Application preferences and custom tuning settings may remain stored locally on the user's device until they are changed, deleted, the application data is cleared, or the application is uninstalled.

Information processed by third-party advertising providers is retained according to their respective policies and retention practices.

9. Your rights

Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have rights regarding your personal information, including rights to:

• request information about the processing of your personal data;
• request access to personal information;
• request correction or deletion where applicable;
• object to or restrict certain processing;
• withdraw consent where processing is based on consent;
• exercise applicable privacy rights provided by local law.

Requests concerning information processed directly by third-party services may need to be directed to those providers.

10. Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes to ZynTuner, third-party services, applicable laws, or privacy practices.

When the policy is updated, the effective date at the beginning of this document will be changed accordingly.

11. Privacy Policy website hosting

This Privacy Policy is published using GitHub Pages. GitHub may process and retain information about visitors to the policy website, including IP addresses, for security purposes, in accordance with GitHub's privacy practices.
